Jami & Sarah's Story
Welcome to Fit Geneius!
And congrats on finding our story! We are Jami and Sarah, and we are thrilled to welcome you to your transformative journey towards optimal health and well-being.
Once upon a time, in the bustling world of fitness and nutrition, our paths crossed in a way that seemed destined. We both shared a passion for empowering others through health and wellness, and our friendship blossomed as we worked side-by-side. However, we soon realized that the holistic and personalized approach we deeply believed in was not fully aligned with the company we worked for. This led us to a bold decision: to venture out independently and create our own coaching businesses that resonated with our core beliefs.
Sarah founded Igniting from Within, focusing on sparking transformation in women by helping them discover their inner strength and potential. Meanwhile, Jami established Create Joy Wellness Coaching, dedicated to harmonizing fitness, nutrition, and mindset to cultivate joy in the lives of women in their 40s and beyond.
Despite the distance between us—Sarah on the east coast and Jami on the west coast—we stayed connected, sharing triumphs and challenges, and our bond grew stronger. It was during one of our catch-up calls that the idea of joining forces emerged. The vision of combining our strengths to create a powerful sisterhood in the world of wellness coaching resonated with both of us immediately. And so, Fit Geneius was born symbolizing unity, strength, and the power of shared dreams.
Through our conversations with each other about our individual experiences, we came to understand that true wellness is not achieved through isolated efforts but rather through a holistic approach that seamlessly integrates mindset, lifestyle, nutrition, and fitness. We saw firsthand how each of these components is deeply interconnected and plays a crucial role in maintaining overall health and well-being. Recognizing this, we knew that a comprehensive wellness plan must address all these aspects together, allowing them to work in harmony. This realization is what inspired us to create the Fit Geneius Wellness MAP program—a program designed to provide a balanced, sustainable approach to wellness by focusing on the four key pillars that have transformed our lives and the lives of those we have coached. By studying and addressing these elements collectively, we believe you can achieve a truly comprehensive and personalized path to optimal health.
LIFESTYLE: For Sarah, the importance of lifestyle became evident during a reflective walk one evening. As she watched the sun set, she thought about her clients and how their daily habits shaped their health. She realized that true wellness wasn't just about diet and exercise; it was about the entire way we live our lives. This includes sleep patterns, stress management techniques, and even leisure activities. Jami, having experienced a complete lifestyle overhaul after moving to a different state and starting anew, understood the significance of daily routines, emotional stability, mindset and how they impact one's mental and physical health. Both of us found that a balanced lifestyle helps ensure that we have the energy, resilience, and motivation needed to pursue our personal, professional, and health goals. This revelation led us to create Fit Geneius, a means to share our passion and mission.
MINDSET: Your mindset profoundly influences your ability to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Jami's journey through high-functioning anxiety and her subsequent diagnosis was a testament to the power of mindset. She learned to retrain her brain, shifting from what she called "Bully Brain" to "Jami Brain," fostering a positive and resilient mindset. For Sarah, embracing positivity and mindfulness was key in guiding herself and her clients through their unique challenges. You, too, by cultivating mindfulness, embracing positivity, and building on your strengths can develop a mental framework that supports lasting change. Your mindset acts as the driving force behind your actions, making it a critical component of your wellness journey.
NUTRITION: Nutrition is the fuel that powers your body and mind. Jami, who faced her own health challenges, found that proper nutrition played a pivotal role in her recovery and ongoing well-being. Sarah, through her coaching, saw firsthand how a balanced diet could transform her clients' health. A balanced diet provides the essential nutrients needed for energy, growth, and overall health. By understanding the principles of good nutrition, you can make informed choices that support your physical well-being and complement your fitness efforts. Jami, a former Division I collegiate volleyball athlete on scholarship, knows the importance of consistency, discipline, and regular physical activity for maintaining a healthy body and mind. For Sarah, fitness was a way to empower herself to discover her physical capabilities, regulate stress, and build emotional resilience.
